Act 2, Santa Cruisin’ at the SF Marsh, Mondays Oct 6th and 20th

Coming October 6th and 20th, 2025 Act 2 “Santa Crusin'” the latest installment of my one woman show called “Delusional.”

Show Description: SANTA CRUISING is a comedic look at my life and hard times in the Artistic Industrial Complex, Art School version.  At twenty I felt fifty, the oldest I would ever feel. Worn out from adulting, I quit my position as a so-called “counselor” at Juvenile Hall in Tulare County, where my job was to keep the kids from killing me, killing each other, or killing themselves. As a teen, I made a metric ton of high-larious modern dances in my PE classes to avoid sports and exercise. With no dance training whatsoever, I escape the Central Valley for the bright lights and big city of Santa Cruz to study with the renowned modern dance goddess Tandy Beal.

“Delusional” Act 1, “JUVEY”

Friends and rels, I’m performing Act 1, the “JUVEY” from my work-in-progress, full-length solo show, “FAILING UPWARDS”, for Monday Night Marsh on September 16 & 30!

NOTE: It’s the Marsh in San Francisco on 1062 Valencia Street, not the Berkeley Marsh.

Its 1975. I need money. I need money because my summer earnings were stolen by a friend. (Why didn’t my clique tell me he was a junkie?)

This section, called JUVEY, thrusts me from the above-average heavenly arms of UC Santa Cruz’s dance department to the Bukowski-level depravity of Tulare County Juvenile Hall.

Will one good apple survive spoilage in a barrel of rotten?

Press Release for AGED OF AQUARIUS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dancing Ear Presents:

THE AGED OF AQUARIUS

Written and performed by Andrea Mock

With Leonard Pitt, Director; Elizabeth Dunn, Choreographer; Carolyn McCandlish, Acting Coach.

Presented as part of the 2023 SF Fringe Festival, 277 Taylor St.

Sat. Aug.13, 2:30 pm/ Fri. Aug.18, 7:00 pm/ Sat. Aug 19, 4:00 pm.

Set amidst the age of Covid and Trump, Berkeley performer Andrea Mock dons a MAGA hat, red tie, and a fine Italian wool suit to choreograph a Trump-lampooning modern dance to stop doom scrolling and recover her creative power. At a family reunion, she shows the dance to her New Aged siblings so that they will (finally) take their baby sister seriously. Unfortunately for Mock, the costume’s strange power only lets her make Trump moves, i.e., wrong 80’s disco, and her Trump-loving sisters mistakenly believe Mock, like them, wants to “own the libtards.” When Covid hits, Mock is deluged with her sisters’ whacky anti-mask, anti-vaccine, and horse dewormer texts. Rife with conspiracy theories, death, and a desire to belong, THE AGED OF AQUARIUS offers comedic relief for those of us with family or friends lost to Q-anon, MAGA, or Covid, or those who suffer from “last-born child” syndrome.

Tickets: In Person/$15 and on Eventbrite.com. The performance runs for approximately 55 minutes.

UNSOLICITED FACEBOOK COMMENTS after a workshop performance of THE AGED OF AQUARIUS at The Monkey House in Berkeley on 7/16/23:

“Andrea was SPECTACULAR!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 funny, poignant, insightful!!!” Diane Barnes, solo performer

“Such a fun evening with my solo performance friends seeing an excerpt of Andie Mock’s The Aged of Aquarius, which will be at The SF Fringe Festival next month. Be sure to catch it. Laugh-out-loud funny. We loved it.” Irma Herrera, solo performer

“Thanks for an evening of delightful, crowd-packed theater. I loved the overlay of Covid trauma on family dynamics. And the Trump/Putin figures—priceless. P.S. My son thought it was hysterical. You’ve got wide-ranging age appeal.” Sandy N., audience member

“Best Trump imitation I’ve seen, including that guy on SNL” Lillian Padilla, playwright, and Mock’s mentor at the 2022 Sewanee Writers Conference
